Ideally, such a flight adventure in a strike aircraft can be combined with a wonderful vacation by the sea in South Africa or with the Soccer World Cup 2010.
Cape Town itself certainly is well worth a visit.
So combine unforgettable holidays with an even more unforgettable flight in a fighter plane - South Africa is nothing less than ideal!
The schedule for your day of flight in Cape Town
The preparation to your fighter jet flight will take around one morning. Contained therein are an extensive briefing, flight type-instruction, survival training, ejection seat training, instruction in oxygen feed control as well as training for your overall, g-suit and the whole additional equipment. Then, finally, you may board "your" fighter plane and the flight starts.
We're offering the following aircraft in South Africa:
BAC English Electric Lightning
The BAC English Electric Lightning is a fighter plane that reaches mach 2 and climbs up to an altitude of 22 kilometers. Therefore, Cape Town is not only the second location for supersonic flights but also the only alternative to Russia to get to the “Edge of Space” – vertically and in just one minute.
The BAC Lightning is a fighter jet sure to stir any aviation-fan's blood. The only planes still able to fly are those in South Africa. It's the only supersonic jet who lets you take a seat next to the pilot and therefore lets you monitor him while he operates the instruments. Enjoy the Cape of Good Hope from a totally different perspective: From vertiginous heights! Space before you presents itself pitch-black and countless stars unveil – during the day. The Earth’s curvature is clearly visible below you – truly a breathtaking view!

BAe B-103 Buccaneer
The BAe B-103 Buccaneer was originally designed to operate from aircraft carriers. Eventhough conceptualized for near sonic speed and low altitudes, the Buccaneer was also intended to carry nuclear weapons. The Blackburn Buccaneer was deployed in the second Gulf War in 1991 where it marked targets and released laser-guided bombs. Apart from the Royal Air Force, only the South African Air Force used the Buccaneer.
You have the opportunity to fly one of the last three Buccaneers.

Hawker Hunter
The Hawker Hunter was used by a multitude of countries. This model is a two-seated trainer version of the extraordinarily agile strike aircraft. The Hunter was originally designed as an air dominance fighter but used for attacking targets on the ground as well as air reconnaissance due to its versatility. Among other countries, Swiss Air Force was using the Hunter and constantly modernizing it until 1994. Two of those Swiss Hunters now fly in South Africa. The Hunter is particularly popular amongst nostalgic persons.
